Everything You Need to Know

What are your dates of operation?

Sunset Hill Barn is open from May 1st until the last weekend in October. 

How are reservations and payments handled?

A non-refundable deposit in the amount of 50% of the total venue fee is due upon signing of the contract. The event space and date will not be considered reserved prior to receipt of the signed contract and deposit by Client to Sunset Hill Wedding Barn. 

What is your cancellation policy?

Deposits and payments are non-refundable. In the event you need to reschedule, the deposit and any payments may be transferred to a new date for the contracted couple, if there is an acceptable date available. 

What is the venue capactiy?

Our 4000 sq. ft. barn accommodates 250 seated guests inside the barn 

Is anyone there to oversee the venue?

Laura and/or Tom, owners of the venue, will be on-site during setup, rehearsal, ceremony & reception to answer questions or provide assistance when needed. 

Do I have to use your preferred vendors?

You may choose any vendor you would like. You are not limited to our vendors list. 

What are we liable for?

Sunset Hill Wedding Barn is not responsible for inclement weather or lost/stolen items. We require proof of event insurance for general and liquor liability within 30 days of the event. Event insurance is available from most insurance providers.

What is your policy on smoking and pets?

All buildings on the premises are smoke-free and pet-free. Guests wishing to smoke may do so outside, wherever cigarette disposal bins are located. Pets on a leash may be brought in for the wedding ceremony and pictures with approval of SHWB. 

How is food and beverage service handled?

The client is responsible for arranging vendors for cakes, desserts and dinner catering services. The client may also provide all beer, wine, and liquor. All beverages/alcohol must be served by SHWB staff.  More information is available from SHWB contact person. 

The caterer's room in the barn is for storage of food to facilitate food service only and has several electrical outlets for heated service appliances brought in. The room is not a commercial kitchen and cannot facilitate food preparation.
